About
I am Reyner Aaron Avbrahm M. VillaseƱor, friends call me “Ney,” and relatives call me “Ener.” I am a senior taking up AB in Political Science at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Santo Tomas. Currently, I am the President of the UST-Central Student Council and the Union of Catholic Student Council of the Philippines. It is a broad alliance of catholic student councils all over the country, committed to the realization of its four CORE principles, Citizen Empowerment, Good Governance, Sustainable Development, and Christian Values.
I grew up with my grandparents and they trained me to challenge myself to do better. I was so fortunate that I was able to be honed by good catholic schools. I finished my elementary at Immaculate Heart of Mary College in Quezon City, Secondary at Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati, and Tertiary, at the Pontifical Royal Catholic University of Santo Tomas. Not everyone had this privilege and I am so thankful to have hardworking and very supportive parents.
Since I was in grade school, I was really into discussions of politics and current events and because I was brought up by my grandma, I also developed an interest in cooking. However, if there is one thing that I cannot deny is my love for the game of basketball being a player since elementary.
I placed something about myself for readers to know where I am coming from. After finishing my AB in Political Science, I am wanting to go to Law School and afterwards, take up my Masters abroad. I am not closing my doors to be in the political arena but there is no rush on my part. If it is for me, then it will come.
I put up this account to have a avenue to share my views on issues and concerns of students in the university as well as the controversies and anomalies in the country which is directly or indirectly affecting us, the Filipino youth. Similarly, this is opportunity for me to have a feed back system with my constituents in the University of Santo Tomas, and the union.
This is my Choice of medium to express my views and encourage participation of students; Chance to responsibly talk about issues and as mature and educated individuals, let us be the Change that we want to see in this world.
Politics has one purpose and that is to do good and never otherwise.
Your humble Servant,
isang kaibigan at kakampi,
Ney
